 The ArcEnCielage is ... |
The ArcEnCielage ("Rainbowing") is an art installation that "dresses" urban trees in rainbow colours.
1,000 first names stencilled onto rainbow-coloured fabrics symbolise living together.
The first ArcEnCielage took place in 2004. In 2005 the ArcEnCielage became the decor for the Festival du Vivre Ensemble.
This poetic work and the festival were created by the plastician painter Sébastien Lecca, in the Institut Médico Professionel (IMPRO) "Faites des Couleurs". Opened in 2001, "Faites des Couleurs" educates and trains 40 adolescents with learning impairments.
Their enthusiasm for artistic activities encourages human contact and enables them to change attitudes to cognitive impairment.
The ArcEnCielage is one of their contributions to Living Together. |
